Speaking on JioHotstar’s special program “Champions Waali Feeling Phir Se,” Sharma reminisced about the thrilling final against South Africa at Kensington Oval, saying, “It’s the pitch where everything happened! Barbados will forever be in my veins.”

It has been a year since India ended their 17-year wait for a T20 World Cup title, securing the trophy after a tense final match. India maintained their composure in a nail-biting contest that went down to the wire, ultimately clinching the title and bringing an end to years of disappointment.

The victory was more than just a single game; it represented the culmination of a flawless campaign. Throughout the tournament, India showcased dominance, character, and resilience, remaining unbeaten.

One of the most memorable moments of the tournament was the high-stakes clash between India and Pakistan. “It wasn’t just a game,” Sharma recalled. “Two days before the match, we were locked in — tight security, fans everywhere, you could feel something special was coming. It felt like a festival had taken over.”

In a tense, low-scoring thriller, India narrowly defeated Pakistan by six runs. Jasprit Bumrah was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance, taking 3 wickets for 14 runs.

Despite an early batting collapse that saw the quick dismissals of Kohli, Rohit, and Axar, Rishabh Pant's aggressive innings of 42 runs off 31 balls helped India reach a total of 119.

“On that pitch, his 42 was like scoring 70,” Sharma commented. “We knew 140 was par, but with our bowlers, even 119 could work.”

Sharma lauded Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh for their excellent execution of the game plan. “Bumrah is a weapon — he takes wickets and dries up runs. Arshdeep’s been brilliant too, and they were crucial in pushing the game in our favour.”

From the electrifying atmosphere of the India-Pakistan match to the nerve-wracking final in Barbados, Rohit's reflections pay tribute to a team that created lasting memories for the nation.
